## What is Carkayous

Carkayous is a fictitious continent created by Jesse Smith (Ink Master | TV Celeb | Tattoo Artist) in 2009 for all of his tattoos and art to reside. The NFT space has proven to be a place where this continent can flourish. With thousands of characters already developed, in a plethora of different mediums which span from tattoos to digital art, Jesse is perfectly poised to enter the NFT space and hit the ground running.

## Carkayous

Since the early 1900s, rumors of a continent that had been hidden from the rest of the world began to spread throughout South America. Many suspected that this continent was located to the West of the Galapagos Islands due to the many sightings of strange creatures that had washed up on the shore. There were even a few fisherman who claimed to have seen this mysterious continent and spoke of blue fauna, burning forests and mountain ranges that stretched across the horizon. They called it **Carkayous**.

# Expedition 8.1 - The Blooming of the Psilofish (MINTED ENDED)

## Goal

The goal of expedition #8 is to explore Durken Forest to study the annual Blooming of the Psilofish. Jesse Smith led a massive collab project bringing together 13 different artists with their own take on a critter living in this forest each with their own unique story and way to adapt in this ever-evolving forest. This magical phenomenon attracts creatures from all over the island, and with the time-sensitive nature of this task, we need your help to document them all. So get ready, because a trip through Durken Forest will put your skills to the test.

## Story

In 2014, during the third official expedition to Carkayous, Jesse and his friends traveled to the Durken Forest, just northeast of Killick Falls Lagoon. From the outside, the forest looks rather plain, but as we all know, looks can be deceiving. The inside of the forest is a dark and hostile place, with danger around every corner. It takes a specific type of person to survive in an environment like this, and while Jesse's initial trip was cut short, he is ready to go back and face the forest head-on.

This time, Jesse plans to visit during the annual Blooming of the Psilofish. Each spring, creatures from all over the island gather around Larken Lake to witness these mushroom-like Psilofish reach maturity and transform into jellyfish that glow and float around the forest. These magical creatures play a vital role in the ecosystem and live for about a month until they die off or get eaten by the various creatures that inhabit Durken Forest. If Jesse’s research is correct, this event has a calming effect on the forest, allowing species to coexist peacefully, making spring the ideal time to visit.

# Expedition 9 - The Invasion of the Feral Fish (MINTED ENDED)

## GOAL

The goal of Expedition #9 is to further explore Killick Falls Lagoon. During this Expedition your job is to analyze and document as many creatures within the Lagoon as you can. This particular Lagoon houses a ton of different species all of which are rather docile in nature.

## Story

After years of putting his life on the line to explore and document Carkayous, Jesse finally felt confident enough to go public and introduce humanity to a world unlike anything that has ever been seen before. In March of 2022, Jesse put out a post inviting people to join his, first ever, public Expedition. This would be his eighth trip to Carkayous over the past 12 years. His goal with this Expedition was to return to Killick Falls Lagoon with a group of dedicated and ambitious explorers eager to carve out a name for themselves within this new land.

Jesse had already explored Killick falls lagoon during his second Expedition back in Jan 2011. He remembered the Lagoon, as a whole, to be a relatively safe place. The only creatures that he felt might pose some sort of danger were these yellow fish that he remembered darting around the Lagoon in small groups. They seemed to be pretty antagonistic and would pick on the other inhabitants but for the most part were pretty harmless.

Explorers who collect multiple inhabitants of Killick Falls Lagoon with the **Red** PsiloFish Trait will earn the ability to get tattooed by Jesse Smith all expenses paid (flights, hotel & tattoo covered). The more you collect, the longer the tattoo session you will receive!\

Once the inhabitants with this trait have been claimed for a free tattoo, the Red PsiloFish will evolve into Blue PsiloFish which will render it no longer capable of being used for a free tattoo.

Each Red Psilofish is associated with 1hr tattoo sessions (maximum $200 value for a 1hr tattoo session). One free round-trip airfare for the tattoo session (maximum $500 value) and free hotel stay(s) for the tattoo session (maximum $400 value).

### How to receive?

### What does it do?

Serkin Trees (Dawn) are airdropped to owners of Expedition 8 for each Full Composition collected.

### What does it do?

Owners are airdropped 20 Acorns at every snapshot after a drop.

## Acorns

Acorns are only airdropped from Serkin Trees. Acorns can be used as a discount (in the form of a rebate) on future Expeditions (drops). This can only be used to rebate minted purchases (not secondary).

The value of each Acorn is $15.

# Tatcorns

### How to receive?

Tatcorns can be received via many ways from the Carkayous project - whether its giveaways, drop prizes, or discorn store.

### What does it do?

Each Tatcorn is worth a 1 hour session (up to $200 per hour). Six Tatcorns are required in order to receive complimentary hotel (up to $400) and flights (up to $500) for the tattoo session.
